Broomball
Broomball is an extremely fun way to play ice hockey in your tennis shoes! Book the ice for your group, Monday to Saturday evenings.
Hockey without the skates
Broomball is an extremely fun way to play ice hockey in your tennis shoes! The rink provides the balls, the brooms and the goalie nets, so the only thing a player has to bring is a pair of shoes. Nobody needs to know how to skate, which is the whole appeal for a group where half the people have never been on the ice.
Shoes are the one piece of equipment worth a thought. A flat rubber sole with a clean, deep tread grips ice far better than a worn-smooth running shoe, and a player who bends the knees and takes short steps will stay up longer than one who strides. Falling is part of the game, and the laughing starts in the first five minutes.
A team can be up to 15 people, with a maximum of 30 players on the ice at once. That is room for two full sides, a good size for a troop, a church group, a work crew or a family reunion that has run out of things to do indoors.

What does it cost to book the ice?
Broomball is $275.00 per hour, with full payment at booking. It is by appointment only, Monday to Saturday evenings, so call 909-986-0793 to set up your night. The start times by night are listed at the bottom of this page, and the front desk will tell you which one is open on the date you have in mind.
The price is per hour for the ice, not per player, which is where the math gets friendly. Split $275.00 across a full 30 players and it comes to about $9.17 each. Split it across a single team of 15 and it is about $18.33 each. A group organiser can collect a few dollars at the door and cover the booking.
Because payment is due in full at booking, the cleanest way to plan is to settle on a head count first, then pick the night, then call. Put the head count and the date in your first sentence and the front desk can tell you quickly what is open.
The one rule to plan around
A legal adult with proof of age must be in the building at all times. That is the rink’s own rule for broomball nights, and it is the one detail every organiser should settle before booking. If the group is a youth team or a scout troop, decide in advance which adult will be on site for the whole hour.
The rest is simple. Pick a night, confirm the head count, pay at booking, and show up in shoes you do not mind wearing on a cold surface. Layers help, since the ice is cold and a game of broomball warms you up faster than you expect, so dress to peel something off.
One review on the rink’s Google listing comes from a visitor whose troop played broomball on this ice, and the line below is how the day went for them.
“They took good care of it troop for broom ball. Thanks guys! Chino Troop 309 thanks you for the hospitality!” Christopher Conover, Google review, 5 stars.
